Aperture by Atelier Sisu

Art-Partners returns to DDP for the 2nd year, and is delighted to curate and project manage three public art installations at the DDP. As Project Managers for three installations by Felice Varini, Atelier Sisu, and Studio Vertigo.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Atelier Sisu is led by Peruvian sculptor and industrial designer Renzo B Larriviere and architectural designer Zara Pasfield. Their work is a simplification of geometry and curation of spatial experiences for the viewer, driven by an intense exploration of water- and wind-eroded strata and framed openings.

Aperture is a modular installation designed to cleverly intersect with one another and interact through natural curves and framed apertures at all times of the day and night, through curated lighting. This public art installation mirrors the design aesthetics of the architecture of DDP by Zaha Hadid.

Atelier Sisu offers visitors an exploration experience in a labyrinth-like work of art, with walls perforated with framed holes, accompanied by music specially composed by Joseph Burgess.

Art-Partners worked closely with consultants to fulfil all technical requirements, government permissions, delivery, and installation. As Project Managers, we also aided in organising the Forum talk and the Press, as well as the Opening Ceremony sponsored by Pernod Ricard at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP).
