MGM Macau "ART IS PLAY"

Art-Partners was the curator and project manager of ART IS PLAY at MGM Macau. Art-Partners was responsible for the artist and artwork selection, as well as the overall execution of the project.

ART IS PLAY invited guests of all ages to embark on a journey of awakening, self-discovery and social interaction through play. This project was a diverse showcase featuring the colorful art installations of five international artists, including Macau artist Cindy Ng, Japanese artist Ayumi Adachi, installation artist tomtom, London-based French artist Camille Walala and Singaporean artist Janice Wong.

Mindscape by Cindy Ng

Inspired by her memories of childhood in Macau, local artist Cindy Ng highlighted the unique essence of ink in Mindscape.  As you brushed through layers of curtains,  you lost yourself in the light and shadows of this beautiful, abstract dreamscape.

Setsuna = 0.013 second by Ayumi Adachi

It only takes one Setsuna that equals to 0.013 seconds, for Ayumi Adachi’s work to awaken consciousness. The calming sounds and shadows of this beautiful bubble installation lead you into a meditative state.

Orangelicious by tomtom

Enter the yellow and orange wonderland of tomtom’s imagination, where vibrant balloons in every size were carefully selected to inspire joy and happiness. This large-scale installation organically flowed, enveloping you in sunshine with every step.

Walala x Play by Camille Walala

This “temple to wonder” from well-known London-based French artist Camille Walala invited guests to lose themselves in a maze of colors and patterns, zigzags and hallways, mirrors and challenges as you solve the puzzles and unleashed your inner child.

Sugar Glow Garden by Janice Wong

Edible art of MGM COTAI’s celebrity chef Janice Wong redefined sweets and invited guests into a world of imagination. Each of the 20,000 sugar flowers has been hand painted with glowing UV paint to inspired visitors to see, taste, and feel differently.
