Art-Partners was the Opening Event Consultant for opening ceremony of Tai Kwun – Centre for Heritage and Arts. More than 150 guests including senior officials, community leaders and neighbours, former users, arts and culture representatives witnessed the opening ceremony. Art-Partners also produced “The History of our Future”, a spectacular light show projected on the historic Barrack Block, with the local artist Lam Tung Pang. The light show tells the story of Tai Kwun through visual narratives, inspired by the history of Tai Kwun and the city.
The old Central Police Station, reborn as the Tai Kwun Centre for Heritage and Arts, has become a part of the backdrop of Hong Kong over its 170 year history. The declared monument consisting of 16 historic buildings and outdoor spaces on a 13,600-square-metre site in the heart of Central has been conserved as part of a revitalisation project led by The Hong Kong Jockey Club in partnership with the Government of the HKSAR. The site is now a centre for the conservation and celebration of Hong Kong’s unique cultural and artistic heritage.
