Sarah Pringle, director of Art-Partners, worked in close conjunction with the design team, architect KPF, and lighting consultant LKL, to define artworks that would match their design concept. She created a unique, theme-based art space utilizing the surrounding natural environment and the traditional Chinese five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, earth—to harmonize profoundly pure artwork forms with the architects’ design vision. Sarah engaged in overall art strategy, curatorial themes, artist selection, commissioning work development, procurement, shipment, installation, documentation, artists’ media interviews, and aftercare.
As an art consultant for the One Shenzhen Bay Central Plaza sculpture project, Sarah utilized her experience, knowledge, and network of international artists, to recommend to the client several artists to choose from, proposing artworks based around the theme of water. She facilitated the selected artist’s artwork proposals and design presentations, and the final commissioned work—inspired by the water element of One Shenzhen Bay—combines tradition and modernity through the imagery of an abstracted dragon emerging from the water to symbolize prosperity.
